Al-Zubaidi confirms his support for durable solution to the displacement problem

Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, Vice President of the Presidential leadership council and President of the STC met this Sunday evening with Mr. Najeeb Al-Sadee, Head of the Executive Unit for the Displaced.

During the meeting, Al-Sadee reviewed the nature of the activity of the Executive Unit for the displaced, and its role as a link between government agencies and international organizations working in this sector, to find durable solutions to this problem.

Also during the meeting, Al-Sadee reviewed a number of mechanisms that are being studied by the concerned international organizations to move from emergency work to durable solutions to the displacement problem.

Al-Zubaidi, Vice President of the Presidential leadership council and President of the STC renewed his support for all efforts being made to permanently solve the problem of displacement, due to the many negative effects that has left and burdens on the local authorities in the liberated areas, stressing the importance of the proposed solutions being in line with the requirements and reality of the host community.

In the end of the meeting, Al-Zubaidi called on the Executive Unit for the displaced to make more efforts and coordinate with the concerned international organizations to encourage voluntary return to safe areas by supporting programs to provide livelihoods, implementing development projects, and other measures that encourage the displaced to return as it is the best solution for this problem at the moment.
