Report on Displacement Movements in Yemen, June 2024
The Executive Unit recorded from January 1 to June 30, 2024, that 9,515 individuals were internally displaced. These families were displaced from 18 different governorates and distributed across 8 governorates.
During the period from June 1-30, 2024, the unit recorded that 1,851 individuals (339 families) were displaced for the first time, and 895 individuals (169 families) were displaced for a second time. Most of these families were displaced from Taiz governorate at a rate of 50%, followed by 14% from Al Hudaydah governorate, and between 10-7% from the governorates of Marib, Ibb, Shabwah, Dhamar, Saada, and Amran.
During the same period from June 1-30, 128 families (618 individuals) left their current displacement areas. Among them, some returned to their original homes, while others were either moving around or were displaced for a second time.
The Executive Unit also tracked those returning to their original homes and recorded that 32 families (128 individuals) returned to their original homes during June.
