The Executive Unit for IDP Camps Management has revealed initial reports on the damages and urgent needs caused by recent rains and floods in Hadhramaut, Shabwah, and Abyan, highlighting the dire need for emergency shelters, non-food items, and food supplies for the displaced families.

The reports first cover the flood damages caused by heavy rains in Hadhramaut, where floods between August 13 and 20 partially and completely destroyed the shelters of 222 displaced households in the areas of Al-Abr, Al-Sawm, Mukalla, Al-Raida, and Qusayr.

In Shabwah, the districts of Usylan, Ataq, and Arma’a experienced floods on August 20, affecting 254 displaced households.

In Abyan, IDP camps in the districts of Khanfer, Zinjibar, Mudiyah, and Ahwar were impacted between August 16 and 22, resulting in the destruction of many households’ shelters.
