Reports – Executive Unit on heavy rain damage in five governorates
Reports of the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management in Yemen revealed that large numbers of displaced households were affected by the wave of rain and torrential rains in five governorates: Marib, Al Dhale’, Al-Jawf, Shabwa and Al Hudaydah.
Marib Governorate
Heavy rain hit Marib Governorate on Saturday 06/08/2022 and lasted for many hours covering different districts of the governorate. The rainfall led to torrential floods that washed away thousands of IDPs tents and properties. Rainfall and torrential floods washed away the shelters of
(16,735) households (5287 households were completely affected and 11,448 households were partially affected).

Shabwah Governorate
Rainfall and Floods Affect Displaced Households in Shabwah IDPs Sites and Kills an IDP
Heavy rain hit different parts of Shabwah Governorate on Thursday 04/08/2022 and lasted for many hours. The heavy rain hit Bayhan and Usaylan Districts and devastated IDPs shelters in (10) sites.
The rainfall and floods affected (390) households in these (10) sites (223 households were affected partially while 167 households were affected completely). An IDP was killed as he was washed away by floods in Dheba IDPs Site.

Aldale’ee Governorate
Heavy rain hit Aldale’ee Governorate on Friday 05/08/2022 and lasted for about many hours. The rainfall led to loss of IDPs tents and properties. (513) displaced households (3121) individuals.

Alhudaydah Governorate
Heavy rain hit different parts of Hays District in Alhudaydah Governorate on Sunday 07/08/2022 and affected Alokosh and Alsab’ateen IDPs Site. The rainfall lasted for many hours leading to widespread floods that devastated IDPs shelters, food items and NFIs in Alsaba’a IDPs Site.
